Yoga on the Beach with optional swim after class
Monday & Wednesday Mornings 7:30 - 8:30 a.m.
Bend in the Road @ State Beach, Edgartown
Monday 5:30 - 7 p.m. Continuing Beginners
This series offers a review of yoga techniques including warm-ups, yoga asanas, and relaxation and breathing exercises. Beginners and those yearning for a refresher course are all welcome. Informational handouts will be given and at the end of the series you will have a foundation on which to continue building your yoga practice.
Tuesday 7 - 8:30 a.m. Sunrise Yoga
This class is ongoing and you can drop in without registering. Different types of meditation, chanting, gentle stretching, pranayama, and asana are explored each class.
Tuesday 8:45 - 10 a.m. QiGong for Beginners
A system of gentle movements and meditative postures that channel Qi (lifeforce) into the body for detoxifying, energizing, and healing. You will learn the basics in this 8-week session and begin to cultivate daily inner peace and healthy vitality.
Tuesday 6 - 7:30 p.m. Yoga on the Ball
This yoga practice uses physiotherapy/exercise balls. The gentle support of the ball helps your
body to release tension and relax into poses that tone muscles and
develop core strength.
Thursday 5:30 - 7 p.m. Moderate Yoga
For yoga students who want to deepen their practices with the study of yoga philosophy, sequencing asanas for specific indications, in-depth pranayama, and yoga nidra training. Perfect for students who are ready to start a daily practice at home and are looking for inspiration.
Saturday 9 - 10:30 a.m. Gentle Yoga & Stretching
This class is appropriate for everybody. Gentle stretching, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques will be guided each class.

A few reminders for yoga/qigong classes:
- Wear loose, soft, comfortable clothing
- Don't eat a large meal for at least 2 hours before class
- Bring your own mat (otherwise, mats and props will be provided)
- Please come to class on time
- Please don't wear any perfumes
- For yoga on the beach bring large beach towel and wear swimsuit for after class swim.
Summer Workshops at SCY Studio
Saturday July 26 Intro to the Chakras 1 - 3 p.m.
Learn about the qualities of the seven major chakra systems and exploring the color, sound, symbol and location of each chakra from your own unique experience. We will do exercises to clear and align these vital energy centers.
Saturday August 9 Stress Relief & Relaxation 1 - 3 p.m.
In this workshop you will learn about stress relief through
breathing, mindfulness and gentle stretching techniques. Whether you
are physically fit or have physical limitations there will be tips to
help you promote over-all well-being in your daily lives.
